Hi Mr Mallory,

Many thanks for your feedback, it's greatly appreciated. On some cars the immobiliser aerials can be sensitive to the length of the key blade, resulting in the symptoms you describe. I'd be happy so modify a blade to make slightly shorter and send another out to you free of charge, if that would remedy the situaution?

I'd be happy to try anything you might suggest. The key you sent is 1/16 inch longer than the original. The pattern on the key is close to the original but not quite the same. I'm assuming, though, that if the key turns in the ignition (which it does), then the pattern is close enough? I never trust German engineering to be straightforward or simple. Let me know if you need any additional information from me. By the way, just FYI, the part of the key blade that did not fit my key head was one of the two portions that slide into the key head. One is straight and the other has an angle. The straight one was a bit too wide.
