Furthermore, unlike nylon, fluorocarbon does not deteriorate under UV light. Over the years the diameter to strength ratio has increased, so you get the same breaking strain for a slightly thinner tippet, however thinner tippet sometimes has worse knot strength and is more prone to breaking with wear and tear. Thanks for your review. The Sage Ballistic Rod & Reel Case is built with a robust ABS plastic tube to protect your rods and at 1,010 grams we'd argue that's not really that heavy. Inside the rod tube there are 4 graduated, separate partitions for each section of a 4-piece Spey rod, and the padded reel cover is large enough to protect your Spey reel while it is installed on your rod. We wouldn't stock this if we didn't think it was a great piece of quality kit, and it is the only rod and reel case designed specifically for Spey rods.
