Good Afternoon, Firstly may I thank you for your continued support, having renewed your cover for a further term. Please be assured that we treat all feedback very seriously and will investigate any concerns you may have with the product, ourselves or the insurer. We have investigated the calls and the notes on your renewal to check the service we provided. You contacted the office on 16/05 as you had not received your renewal terms. We confirmed your renewal premium over the phone and this point you questioned the claim as you were under the impression it had been settled. We arranged a claim update with Tradewise and advised you that the claim remained open. A week later we transferred you to Tradewise claims as you were looking for a further update on the claim. On 28/05 you were undecided as to whether or not you would be renewing, however on the 30th you contacted the office and arranged the deposit. You originally paid £1246 for your renewal in 2013, however having added an employee on 16/01/2014 at a cost of £140, without the claim in question I would expect you to be paying in the region of £1600. Before we offer any renewal we arrange quotations with the other companies on our panel and despite the increase in your premium, we were unable to find another Insurer to quote under £4000. As Tradewise remained the most competitive, it was this quotation that was released and subsequently renewed. I have also contacted the Tradewise Claims line today, as I felt it was necessary to get an understanding of the issues that you have faced with this particular incident. They have confirmed that the claim remains open and there are further investigations ongoing. As you are fully aware of the circumstances, I hope that you can appreciate the complicated nature of this incident, which explains the current time scales that have elapsed. We will continue to arrange claim updates with the insurer and will contact you immediately if anything changes. Despite the fact that a theft of a vehicle is clearly no legal fault of yours, it is the vehicle that is insured by the policy and because it was involved in an accident, this is the reason a claim has been opened. As there is a third party insurer pursuing Tradewise in respect of this claim, they are totally dependent on the third party as to how long this incident will take to close. There is unfortunately no guarantee that the claim will be settled non-fault, as Tradewise may be liable to pay any third party vehicle damage, hire charges or injuries sustained in the accident. Rest assured if the claim is closed with no payments made, we will instruct the Insurer to re-instate your no claims bonus to its previous level and request that they reduce your premium in accordance with the extra discount the no claims bonus would then provide.
