I admit I should have realised from the info on the product packaging that the wool was of shorter length. Sorry for my lack of knowledge.

This is a Super Chunky yarn and each 50g ball contains approximately 50 metres (55 yards), so the balls are naturally shorter than those of finer-weight yarns. We’re sorry, though, to hear that you encountered more joins than expected and several knots in most of the balls.
A small number of knots can occur in commercially produced yarn, with up to 3 knots per ball generally considered within the industry standard. However, if you’ve found more than this or feel there is an unusual number of joins or knots, please contact us with details of how many balls are affected and approximately how many knots you’ve found per ball. We’ll be happy to look into this further for you.

I agree that the number of knots in the wool balls was not more than 3 on each ball. My inexperienced with this is now sorted - thank you.
