From time to time, Codecademy update some of their courses, and we realise that some of these updates are quite big. Although we have no control over these updates, we are happy to grant students short extensions in light of these updates. The Step 1 courses are aimed at beginners. While much of the information is expanded upon in Step 2, Step 2 is aimed more at intermediate students, having already completed the Step 1 foundation courses. Your tutor for the entire traineeship was Nelson. You would not have heard from anyone at Codecademy, since Nelson was your tutor, but we can see you only reached out to him for support 10 months into Step 2. As Nelson was your tutor and point of contact, he would have gladly explained what needed to be done, and points that needed to be understood in Step 2 had you been in regular contact with him. Remember, tutor's contact details are provided for students to reach out for support when necessary. I would like to clarify that our traineeships include a job guarantee or your money back clause, which stipulates that candidates should be refunded their course fee if they are not placed during the recruitment stage. This is not the same as a guaranteed job. But rest assured that should you not have received an offer you have received a refund of your course fees. We aim to source relevant and active roles for our candidates, but due to the competitive nature of the job market, some roles close before our candidates have a chance to submit their applications. This is why we do all we can to generate interest for our candidates throughout the recruitment stage with partner companies, recruiter and new companies alike. The more opportunities that our candidates have access to, the more offers they may receive. We are sorry to hear that you were not a good fit for the role with the partner company who we referred you to, but pleased that you ended up receiving an offer for a role that you were a good match for. Not every interview results in an offer, which is why we do not curtail our efforts until an offer is on the table. We have to limit the enrollments per area as much as we can, so as not to flood any particular area with IT Technicians and therefore limit employment possibilities for our students. Our recruitment phase is multi-faceted, and while our recruitment agents network your CV to our partner companies, they also take up a pro-active approach by compiling lists of the most suitable job-board links for our candidates to apply for in the meantime, which serves to maximise their chances of being placed. We are aware that you had already applied for many of these positions, and were hired before you were placed with a partner company.
