Thank you for your review. Food supplements are heavily regulated to ensure safety and quality of the end products. Any vitamins, minerals and additives which are used in foods / food supplements are assessed by scientific committees in the EU and UK for safety before they can be used in foods / food supplements.The Food Safety Authority (FSA) in the UK and in the EU (EFSA) ensures that the science on additives, vitamins and minerals is strictly and regularly reviewed, the law is strictly enforced and action is taken where problems are found with certain ingredients.There are both UK and EU regulations which list approved additives as well as vitamins and minerals and the forms which food supplements can contain. These regulated lists of approved ingredients are updated regularly, and Healthspan’s products are under continuous review to ensure compliance.Any additives used are only used to the minimal amount necessary to achieve their purpose in the end product. As an example, it is impossible to make tablets with an homogenous mix of active ingredients, or which can be compressed to the correct hardness for optimal disintegration in the body and maintain tablet integrity during the shelf life without using additives such as anticaking agents, bulking agents etc. Paula
