Thank your for completing your Feefo feedback form as it really helps us understand how our customers feel about our service and jewellery. Thank you for your kind words regarding our service.
I completely understand your frustration at having to remove the jewellery from its protective layer and put the chain through the pendant.
It's a real dilemma for us, to be honest. Of course, we could present the jewellery in it's box for you, but sometimes parcels can be handled quite roughly when in transit (whatever courier we use) and so we choose to keep the jewellery 100% safe in it's protective wrapping whilst in transit to our customers. Then we know the jewellery will be completely pristine when it arrives, with no scratches or other damage whatsoever.
If a chain is attached to a pendant out of its protective layer before we send a parcel, and the item is roughly handled in transit, there is a serious risk of the chain scratching the pendant before it arrives with our customer. This would be such a shame and so we do all we can to avoid it.
I just didn't want you to think we were being 'lazy' by not removing the protective layer from the jewellery - we have genuinely thought about it a lot, and after weighting up the pros and cons feel its he best thing to do.

I wouldn't consider the tiny plastic bags that the chain and the pendant came in as "protective layers". It looked as if you had bought in some cheap jewellery and put them in fancy boxes and had I given this to my wife as a gift without checking it (which I nearly did due to time constraints) then it would have looked extremely poor and been (more) disappointing.
I think you should at least make the purchaser aware that the goods will be in "protective bags" and advise inspection and removal of the items from the bags and that they be placed onto their display pads prior to giving as a gift.
