It's tape. It's sticky on one side and smooth on the other. No complaints.

So worth it, wish I had one the last time I moved. It is mildly addictive to just tape stuff.

They are very good until they get wet when a pipe bursts in the house next door and your home is flooded. Then you need to buy more to replace the sodden ones!
