We have also found styes difficult to treat because the swelling prevents the colloidal Silver from getting to the infected area plus there is a reluctance to use it so close to the eyes. When follicles are blocked, like acne, we would recommend exfoliating first but of course that's not really practical around the eye. The best we can advise is using the colloidal silver to clean around the affected area to help reduce reinfection. Although colloidal silver has antiviral properties, when taken internally, it does take a week or so to buildup the silver levels to an effective level.
