We've sold hundreds of these and have never had any complaints so it may be you have a faulty product. We'd be happy to refund you if you can send it back to us. The product you ordered is is plastic, but there is a more expensive leather one available if you are interested (Wheatley leather cast case).

It's not unfortunately something we have any direct control over, although we are increasingly leaning more on our suppliers to be more sustainable with their packaging. Thank you for your review of the folding filleting board. Unlike me, it sounds like you regularly catch very large fish! My only advice would be to chop the head off before you start to give you a bit more more space, but you may already be doing that! Otherwise we'd be more than happy to provide a refund if you send the product back to us.
