I'm glad you found the fitting process so straight forward! The marks that look like staple marks are features that are already in the timber when we receive it. We feel it adds to the rustic character so we prefer to retain them in manufacturing rather than affecting the rustic surface removing them. Hi Vincent, thanks for sharing your feedback with us here on Feefo. I'm glad to hear you're pleased with the quality of your new shelf and with the service provided by the courier. I'm sorry we didn't have exactly the item you wanted available, as we don't offer 1 inch thick shelves. The timber we use is rustic so we prefer to use a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches for 2 reasons: this is the thinnest they can be in order to accommodate our floating shelf brackets, and rustic timber is likely to bow excessively when it's cut too thin. Hence the name - Funky Chunky Furniture. We do our best to cater to the needs and specifications of our customers, and if you had contacted us directly before placing the order, we could have made a bespoke 12x1.5 inch piece for you.
