Regarding your concern about the lack of a brain scan prior to TMS, this is entirely normal and consistent with the research evidence, NICE guidance and best practice. While scans can be useful in some clinical settings (cancer, stroke rehab etc) they are rarely used in psychiatric treatment pathways. Our treatment protocols are evidence-based and designed around symptomatology, psychiatric history and clinical assessment. This approach, supported by extensive research, allows us to tailor the treatment effectively for each patient. Scans add complexity and unnecessary cost which is not consistent with increasing access to treatment. We also understand your concern about the cost. As a private healthcare provider, we aim to balance high-quality, effective care with the realities of running a specialised service. The pricing reflects both the overheads involved in providing advanced treatments and the need to ensure that we maintain the highest standards in patient care. That said, we continuously evaluate our pricing and offerings to make treatment as accessible as possible.
