Good afternoon
Thanks for your feedback for our site at Brownsea Island.
The camping there is more expensive than our other sites. The reasons for this are largely to do with its uniqueness. It's our only island campsite so everything on the site incurs extra cost just to get on the island. As the island is a SSSI there are strict regulations about how the land is used. The camping activity is much more spread out than a typical campsite as a result and we're also restricted in the materials we can use which further adds to the cost. It really is a unique offering, certainly for the National Trust, and it would be difficult to find anything similar with which to compare.
I hope that helps explain the reason for the relatively high cost when compared to other campsites.
