Thank you for your review. We’re sorry to hear that you are not happy with our quote process. The reason that we don’t pre-fill details for clients based on their previous purchases is that, unlike other insurance types (i.e. Car or Home) where details rarely change, details on a travel insurance policy can and do change between purchases, often leading to mistakes in the purchased cover, especially in relation to the declaration of pre-existing medical conditions. We find clients are more likely to provide accurate information if they are asked the questions, rather than asked only to review if anything needs updating. It’s also the case that clients need different optional cover depending on where they are travelling on their next trip or trips. For example, your last policy was an Annual Multi-trip to Europe for two adults with no optional extras, and your new policy is a Single Trip Worldwide for 2 adults and 6 children, with optional trip disruption and gadget and additional cancellation cover. The process is designed to help customers choose the cover that is right for their next trip. We note that the premium increase compared to your previous policies, is a combination of factors including that the previous policies were to Europe, where your current policy is to “Worldwide including USA, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean” area of cover, that you’ve declared pre-existing medical conditions that didn’t exist on older policies and that you’ve added a number of optional covers, including higher gadget cover. We also note that an Annual Multi Trip for this area of cover is more cost effective, if you have several booked trips throughout the year. In relation to your comment that the limits being per person are not clear, we’d note that the introduction text on the quote page states: ‘Below is your total price covering anyone travelling on the policy. Choose from the different types of cover and options available to you. The cover limits are per person, unless otherwise stated.’, I’ve, however, forwarded your comment on to see if there is a way to highlight this further.
