I do wish you had spoken with your driver during the tour, as Barrie would have been more than happy to explain how our coach trips work. From speaking with to the Barrie, I understand that the group travelled widely across the Isle of Wight and even enjoyed two additional trips at no extra cost. Coastal towns can be particularly quiet during the winter months, as many attractions and shops close for the season, which can unfortunately limit things to do during free time. We have used the hotel for many years and have not encountered any problems previously, so I’m especially sorry to learn that your stay did not meet the standard both you and we would expect. Your comments about service, food quality, room conditions, facilities, and staff interactions have been noted and will be passed directly to the hotel. Regarding the touring schedule and the length of time spent in certain destinations, I’m sorry you felt this wasn’t communicated more clearly. While others on the trip shared very positive feedback and felt they had a lovely time, it’s clear your experience was different, and I regret that we did not meet your expectations in this respect. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m delighted to hear you thoroughly enjoyed the day and found the drivers very good. Regarding the wait at Chieveley, we do understand how that can be frustrating. We do have early‑arrival procedures in place to minimise waiting times, but on this occasion the exceptionally good traffic conditions meant the coach arrived much earlier than expected, which added to the delay before the connecting vehicles arrived. Your comments are really helpful, and we’ll review this with our operations team to see how we can improve the connection for future excursions.
