Mr Gibson – whilst understanding your concerns, we have looked into this and your renewal was due on 4/11/16 and you did not make contact with us until 23/11/16.

This means that your policy had lapsed and you were without insurance for 20 days. Therefore we could not treat this as a renewal. As a gesture of goodwill we did reduce the amount charged so that you only paid £14 more than your renewal notice.
