Almost always a good service, even when busy - but not always. travelling to island in the run up to Bestival check in at Southampton was astoundingly slow (the worst I have ever known in 5 years of travelling almost every week), causing tailbacks and congestion into the Southampton roads system. When I queried why there were only 2 of the 3 check-in lanes in use I was told that was a 'management decision'. In contrast, E Cowes terminal provided excellent, efficient service on the Monday after Bestival
