Wydale tanks use either a sponge or nitrile gasket depending on the lid design, with both chosen specifically to provide a reliable watertight seal. Sponge gaskets are typically used on larger external lids where extra compression helps create an effective seal, while nitrile gaskets are often used on smaller or internal lids where long-term durability is key. When fitted and used correctly, sponge gaskets are designed to perform well for many years, even when lids are removed and refitted. Issues with them are very uncommon, but we completely understand how frustrating it can be if something doesn’t seem right. Because we work closely with these products and have direct hands-on experience with the ranges we supply, we’re always happy to help troubleshoot and offer practical advice where needed.
