Aside from it being a regulatory requirement for all travel insurance providers, it is important for us to capture as much information as possible relevant to your medical history to ensure this is recorded accurately on your policy. This is because in the event of a claim where your medical conditions are relevant, that same medical declaration will be relied upon in order to assess the claim efficiently and will mitigate the requirement for requests for further information from your GP - which is often at the cost of the patient. Insufficient or incomplete medical information gathered at the point of purchase could jeopardise a future claim so we have to ensure we are providing a service that is fair, thorough and with 100% compliance against regulatory obligations.
