I have now had the opportunity to investigate the situation and while im unable to provide any specific detail about your policy on the public domain due to data protection regulations, i will attempt to explain as best i can. If you need a more detailed explanation, i will contact you directly but im hoping this will suffice. Ill start with the facts i have available to me. I can see that you purchased your initial policy online but it looks like when the details came through, both travellers on the policy had the same date of birth. You noticed this and contacted our call centre on the same day to correct the error. As the correction would result in an additional premium due to the 2nd travellers age now being higher than originally stated, we would need to cancel the current policy and re-issue a new one with the correct details. You have mentioned an additional £16 charge, but this is the difference in premium between the original policy and the corrected one. The above sequence of events all happened on the same day so while we were able to resolve the issue and collect payment for the new policy instantly, were unable to refund your original policy in the same way. This means there was a period of time where you had technically made 2 payments, although one was on its way back to you at that stage but again, i apologise for any inconvenience caused.
