Hi Felicity, thank you for this great review. I'm so glad your little one is enjoying our gummee teether. The reason we make the gummee glove so bulky is so that we can keep the drool away from baby's skin with a polyester stuffing in between the two cotton layers. As you know when baby's hand gets wet and they have the glove on for a long time this can cause chaffing. This protective layer stops this from happening. Hope this explains why it is so bulky.
