We have checked and can confirm that the splits you've observed are part of the natural characteristics. On our website, we advise customers to expect splits, cracks, knots, shakes, waney edges, bows, twists, sticker shadows, and machine marks in line with the rustic style of our shelving. These qualities set our shelving apart from others, and due to the nature of solid wood, each shelf will be unique, featuring rustic timber.
