These missed payments resulted in several non-sufficient funds fees and an accumulation of interest. When there is a backlog of fees, your payments are applied to those fees first before being applied to the principal, which can extend the term of the loan.

However, adjusting the terms can impact the overall duration of the loan, and if multiple payments are missed, it will take longer to pay off the loan.
