We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful Cotswold villages and Broadway Tower, and that the area's beauty shone through even during the heatwave! However, we are sorry to hear that parts of the route caused you concern. Safety is a top priority for us, and we would like to clarify that our trail has been carefully designed to minimise road walking wherever possible. Only a very small proportion of the route follows roads, and on these sections, there is always a dedicated pedestrian path available, allowing walkers to avoid walking in the road itself. We're also sorry to hear that you experienced difficulties with the GPS navigation. Our GPS app includes a download feature that allows the entire route to be saved for offline use before setting out. This significantly reduces both mobile data usage and battery consumption, and details of this feature are included in the GPS instructions provided before departure. We appreciate your suggestion regarding backup maps and additional check-ins, we are always looking for ways to improve the experience and will take your comments into consideration as we review our self-guided tours. We always strive to provide every guest with an enjoyable and memorable experience, so it's disappointing to learn that we fell short of your expectations. The itinerary for our self-guided cycle tour was revised following the 2025 season in line with customer feedback, which highlighted that starting in Oxford made the first day's ride longer than many guests preferred. This change was immediately reflected on our website, and amended itineraries communicated with guests. Looking at your booking, I can see that you stayed in our usual selection of hotels, all located in the intended overnight stops for the itinerary. While our website provides examples of the types of hotels we use, your confirmed itinerary, with confirmed hotel details were sent to you before your trip. I apologise if this wasn't made clear enough or if it led to different expectations. I am very sorry that the bike we originally gave to you had issues, however I’m glad that we were able to offer a replacement as soon as you highlighted your concerns.
