I made a recent booking for a hotel at Christmas for one night (9 months in advance!) and realised within 24 hours that I did not need the booking after all.

Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately, we're governed by the hotels specific change and cancellation policies which are displayed on the hotel pages on our site. The change and cancellation policies are the hotel's policies and outside of our control. The rules and restrictions associated with non-refundable/non-cancellation room rates are usually strict given the competitive pricing for these rooms. Free Cancellation & Non-Refundable Rate Plans are standard practice for hotel bookings, and we try and make these as transparent as possible on our site. Apologies for any confusion.
