Thank you to Andy Hill for his rational and accurate response. As a retired life/health insurance marketer, I understand that the products Freedom Health sells can be used to meet a variety of customer needs. However, as a customer experience specialist, I'd encourage Freedom Health (and its broker network) to focus on better tracking and communicating in ways that clearly display to customers that the product they purchased was professionally recommended to meet the need identified either by the customer or the purchase process. No insurance customer buys a health product because they want to own the product. They buy protection for a real/perceived/anticipated need. My own need was crystal clear: buy (whatever the Home Office will be satisfied is) 'comprehensive sickness insurance. Like most insurance products, Freedom Elite is a product with an array of limitations, exclusions, and precise definitions that must be met. I also recognize that it's sold without up-front underwriting on the individual risks of the applicant assessed, so I respect the issues that your legal/compliance team would have in allowing the company to communicate that Freedom Elite = 'comprehensive sickness insurance'. But I believe that there's a way to communicate that the broker is a qualified professional who acknowledges understanding that I wanted 'comprehensive sickness insurance' and is recommending Freedom Elite. In turn, I believe there's a way for Freedom Health to communicate the next step in that chain: congratulations on choosing Freedom Elite from a well-regarded health insurance company, whose product was recommended to you by your broker based on your stated need for 'comprehensive sickness insurance'. If you or the Home Office have any questions about the product you have purchased, Freedom Health or your broker will be pleased to assist. Something along those lines would help a customer like me feel greater assurance that I have done due diligence in securing a product that the Home Office will be satisfied with.
