The product purchased was an amethyst heart shaped pendant with a diamond which was suspended from a delicate box chain. The chain was the only component of the necklace that broke. This explains the scrap value being of a lower proportion to the total cost of the product. We inspected the broken chain which had clear signs of rupture which could have only been caused by pulling. As a good will gesture the customer was offered a replacement chain at cost value but it was declined. Our jewellery is covered for manufacturing faults only. On the rare occasions we had to deal with repairs/ replacements - due to factory problems or user problems - we always do all we can to achieve the best solution for the customer.
