Sorry to hear the socks weren't "quite" as hoped for. The elasticated cuff clearly has to ensure the socks stay in place however, it shouldn't cut the circulation off in the process and neither should you be required to "adapt" the socks for comfort.
I'd like to try and improve your experience overall so I will today send an alternative pair of socks out that you may find more comfortable around the ankle. Of course we can't be sure but let's give it a go, nothing ventured....nothing gained and you've certainly got nothing to lose.
