Sorry to read your comments and to hear your claim was declined. Unfortunately it seems you made a claim on the exact same day you purchased a policy, which upon further investigation by the claims team your claim was subsequently declined. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the way your claim was adjudicated then please contact the Claims team who can help further. If you feel they have not made the correct decision you also have the right to ask the Financial Ombudsman to consider your claim complaint.

During a conversation with a member of staff you informed us that you had originally purchased the bike second-hand, and that you did not have any of the original documentation to confirm the original purchase such as receipt, invoice or bank statement showing the transaction. As such, you were informed by a member of staff that the policy would not be suitable for you as you would not be able to provide sufficient evidence of ownership in the event you needed to make a claim. The policy terms and conditions states what documentation/evidence of ownership must be provided to support a claim, and unfortunately you are not able to meet this criteria. We make the terms and conditions available to customers throughout the customer journey and at the point of purchase. As we sell our policies on a non-advised basis, it is the responsibility of the insured to make sure they read the policy terms and conditions and confirm that the policy is right for them.
