We actually complete this thorough affordability assessment to remain compliant. This is in accordance with regulatory guidance and to ensure we treat customers fairly. In respect of your comments regarding the credit search, we will still complete a credit search in accordance with the aforementioned affordability assessment. Credit search providers such as Callcredit and Equifax whom we use to check your credit report may not update your credit report immediately and this may be why you still have active loans mentioned on the report.  We are sorry to hear that you found this process distressing.
