Thank you for your review and we are so sorry you feel this way. However, the product photos are not fake. This is a real wood product that is available in an oak or a walnut finish. It sounds like you have accidentally selected the wrong wood finish when ordering. Please do also bear in mind that because this is real wood, there may be a slight variation in colour between the actual product and the website photos and also that real wood naturally changes colour over time anyway. So it can be difficult to match a brand new wood product with something already in your home; this does not mean there is an issue with the new product.
