Hi,
This is very unusual. The spout area is made from a material that is 'tasteless'. If you continue to have this issue, clean the area with a toothbrush and tooth paste, rinse well and that ought to resolve the issue. Please let us know if you have any more issues,

Hi, we are sorry that the old style carrier was not large enough for you, so are happy to replace with our new ultimate bottle carrier which fits all bottles including our new one litre!
Excellent service. I was particularly pleased to receive a replacement cap (new, better design) after reporting a broken hinge on my original bottle after it fell off a table on a moving boat.
Ordering is easy and delivery was prompt.
The bottles are essential for traveling in areas of the world where water can be unclean.
