Thank you for sharing your feedback, and for your time on the phone this afternoon.
As discussed, airlines have a set number of seats in each booking class which refer to the type of ticket. Each booking class has different rules, restrictions and a different price based on these factors. The reason for the different booking classes, is that airlines try to maximise their profit.
I've done some testing and found when you did your initial search the £73 fare was available, however during the booking process this fare had been booked by another traveller and was the last fare of the booking class. This resulted in the fare increasing to the next booking class.
Apologies for the inconvenience and frustration this situation has caused you.
