I was pleased to hear that Holiday Gems had reduced the price of our city break after I had queried the total cost. They did so quite quickly and very courteously. I still had no breakdown of the price charged but have had to accept that this is down to "the system' used for ATOL protected bookings.

Booking made quickly and efficiently. Prompt phone back too. Just wish Holiday Gems would print the extensive paperwork and send it by post as do other agents.

Our website is very clear that the costs are not live and that checked bags are not included. This information is shown on every page of the order process and although reiterated in the terms and conditions we would expect that the notification shown would highlight the issue. Further, you agreed to the terms and conditions prior to completeing your order and if read online would not be in a 4 font. On any late or suspicious order, a random amount is taken to ensure that the card has not been stolen and being used fraudulently. This is for the protection of our clients. If you did not wish to proceed with the booking at the live pricing it is your prerogative to cancel the order and no payment would have been taken. You chose to proceed at the higher cost and it is unreasonable to accept the costs and then complain.
