Service was excellent and the ramp strong but very slippery for our dog so I have to put a towel over it so he can get purchase.

The surface is an abrasive anti slip surface which can be used in all weathers. It is important that dogs are trained to use the ramp (please see our dog ramp training guide), once a dog is used to the surface and relaxed as they walk up the ramp then dogs should not slip at all on it. Most dog ramp manufacturers now use the same surface.
