We don't hide our requirement for a Sold Secure approved lock, you have to agree to having read and understood this before purchasing your policy. Sold Secure are the industry recognised lock testers, who then give each lock a rating (Bronze, Silver, Gold or Diamond) based on their level of security. We then apply this rating to a value of bike. For our policy a Gold rated lock is required for any bike valued over £1500. With a simple internet search of a well-known online retailer, a Gold rated U-lock can be purchased for less that £20. Although other locks may well be as good as ones that have been tested and rated by Sold Secure, without actually going through the testing process... how would we know? This testing gives peace of mind to the consumer and a system that can be applied to policies such as ours.
