We are sorry to hear you are still experiencing pain. When an operation is conducted a patient is always advised of the work undertaken by the consultant in theatre prior to their discharge from hospital . If at the 6 week follow up consultation the consultant is advised of any issues in regards to a patient then they would not discharge them from their care and would set up a further appointment for them to be reviewed. I can find no contact from either yourself or the physio in charge of your care raising any issues regarding pain in the period from your six week consultation to date. Due to the Covid 19 restrictions we are currently unable to see any patient in person but if required we can get Mr Cossey to do a virtual telephone consultation with you. Dear Noreen thank you for your feedback. Mr Cossey is a Private Knee consultant who sees privately Insured patients and self funding patients and does not hold any NHS tenure. This means that when he sends a letter to your GP it reports on your private consultation with him and his findings at that time. As a consultant with no NHS tenure as a practice we can not make any referrals to the NHS this is the responsibility of the NHS GP Practice that receives the letter. Any referrals through the NHS at Spire will be directed to any of the knee consultants who will take an NHS consultation.
