Heavy, not using it now. It made my wrist swell up and painful. Not recommended for the elderly, I'm afraid, sorry.

I also experienced hot steam escaping, when holding down the handle to pour out the hot water, and this was most annoying while having trouble even lifting the kettle, because it is far too heavy. Then when you take off the lid, to fill the kettle again, there is water dripping from the lid that has to be wiped up. The steam collects there and makes water as it cools, of course, in the lid. The kettle is a good idea but is a bad design. I tried it for a week but not any more. I would not sell it on as other people would find the same faults. It will go to the electrical waste collection service run by our local council. In fact, the kettle should be removed from sale for being unsafe to use, by anyone, not just the elderly.
