The pipes in the ground to take the pegs to secure the base of the hangar door have given lots of problems over the winter. Firstly, when the weather was wet and the ground soggy, the metal pipes sink into the ground and it is nigh impossible to then pull them up again to the surface. Second, when the ground is very dry, the earth round the pipes gets crumbly. Then small bits of earth fall into the pipes especially when you are putting the pegs in. Progressively the pipes fill up with earth, so you have less and less depth in which to place the door pegs. It seems the only way to deal with this problem is to take a hand drill with a large size bit and try and drill out the earth which has fallen into the pipes, but that is not easy. Again, I strongly suggest these pipes should be redesigned with quite a large (say 8-10 cm) disk round the top, welded to the pipe. These disks would stop the pipe sinking in wet weather and also stop earth falling into the pipes in dry weather. Very simple, but would solve a couple of silly problems which are really irritating!

Improve your plans. Give your customers a call 5 weeks after delivery.

Your building plans have inaccuracies in them and need updating. This will cost customers of yours tens of thousands of pounds for a nominal cost to you.

Hi Beth, We have had a steep learning curve here. Some of the issues have been from our side but you guys are also culpable in offering slow communication if any and out of date documentation. Our first hangar will have taken 33 man days to complete (not including groundworks. The second will be 17 man days. How do these timescales look to you?

Hello Mr Haig-Thomas,

It would usually take 18-24 man days for a hangar of 12.4-12.8m.

When your installer contacted me to highlight the issues he was having, I responded by the next day with the information he needed and asked for his telephone number so that one of the engineering team could call him to discuss, but I did not receive a reply.

I'm sorry you feel you were not given better service and have taken your comments on board, as any feedback is valuable to us and we do use it to make improvements.
