I wanted to book direct with campsite but couldnt. I wanted to pay amount in full on day of booking but couldnt. All very poor.

Final payment on arrival would be an easier arrangement than informing the customer that payment…
Final payment on arrival would be an easier arrangement than informing the customer that payment hast to be made prior to arrival and by phone, especially if the customer lives outside the UK.
