Hi Emma, thank you for your message. We are sorry to hear you are disappointed but the sensor validity and subscription periods are not linked. The sensor has a 12 month battery life from the date it is registered to the app and we do try and make this clear in the Customer Support section of the website - https://support.ovusense.com/534782-Do-I-ever-need-to-replace-my-Sensor
