natural disasters are something our policy does usually cover. We have paid out many millions of dollars on claims for earthquakes / ash clouds etc. Are you able to email me at community@covermore.com.au with your claim number if you would like your claim reviewed?

usually if you have left your backpack in a public place there wouldn't be cover, however if it's just beside you then they would look at this differently. You should definitely submit a claim via our online claims tool and then it can be assessed on it's merits as this is something we most likely cover (based on what you have said in this review)
