The tipping system didn’t feel voluntary when I was told the money was meant to support the staff’s families. For future tours, I believe the company needs to ensure that women, unless they choose otherwise, are not placed in situations where they are isolated with a group of men for an entire week. To make matters worse, only one person could speak a little English, which made it incredibly difficult to communicate how I was feeling during the trip.
