Sunlight Contractors, LLC has seen it all under raised homes that have been neglected for years/decades. Some customers spend a fortune to repair their rotted floors but not to repair the cause. First and foremost you need an honest evaluation of the cause and have a full proof plan in place once you start fixing the issues. We have had customers who installed over 4- floors and the flooring contractor just keep on making money and not caring or knowing how to solve the customers moisture issues first. So many Mold Remediation jobs are done incorrectly also and the homeowners never get rid of the cause.

There was huge moisture issues under Johns crawl space. Most homeowners say i'm not spending money to repair moisture issues. What happens is, moisture will destroy your home and the longer you wait the stronger the chances are of rotting floor joists and beams, also the chances of mold and termite damage increase dramatically.

Whoever you hire just make sure there's a guarantee that your floors will never have a problem swelling, cupping, buckling or sagging. The moisture levels must be 12% or below before they are sealed with 2LB closed cell spray foam on all wooden members under the house.

There are no crawl spaces that Sunlight Contractors cant make perfect!!!

LSU has completed studies of 12 different homes in hot humid conditions. Sunlight Contractors has completed thousands of homes and we agree that the only product you should use in a crawl space or subfloor is closed cell 2LB spray foam with a depth of at least 2". Obviously in moisture ridden crawl spaces we recommend 3".

Foam board doesn't work because over time the seals crack due to hostile swings in temperature and settling of foundations which ultimately create openings in the sealed envelope. Also installer error is a major factor when installing foam board under homes. It just isn't a good idea.

It took Sunlight Contractors 3-days to remediate the mold and take out the old dirty batt insulation that was under Moby's home. We then sprayed 2LB closed cell spray foam and completely sealed the sub floor. Now there is no possibility of moisture creating unhealthy mold conditions. Moby has already told Sunlight that the project came out great and the floors are much warmer and there are no more squeaky soft floors.

Thank you Moby for taking the time to tell our prospective readers what happens when a project is completed the correct way.

The reason we say this is that there are so many installers that aren't licensed with the Louisiana State Licensing board of contractors and use inferior spray foam that falls off. Check for a licensed contractor at (LSLBC), and Spray Foam.org. This way you can find out for yourself.

We spray foamed Alex's sub floors first with 2LB closed cell spray foam 2" in depth. Alex liked it so much he immediately hired us to spray foam his attic with 5.5" of open cell spray foam. We also sealed all his water pipes under his home before the freezing weather arrives. Thank you Alex.
