Thank you for your business and your feedback. I do recognize our customer communication with regards to backorders and ETAs is not even close to our normal SME standard. We are working very hard to get this back to an acceptable level. Our challenge has been trying to secure timely and reliable information from our suppliers so we can then convey with confidence to our customers. Unfortunately, several items like dumbbells, kettlebells, gloves and wipes have been exceptionally fluid during this time (COVID-19). I understand your frustration and I am sincerely appreciative of your feedback. The packing list should have noted this item was on backorder. If not, our mistake. We are trying to update our website as quickly as possible when exhausting a product, but I realize some orders may be received before this update is made. I will continue to look for ways to improve our processes.This is not an excuse, but please understand that due to the current situation with COVID-19, nitrile gloves have now replaced the face mask as the most “in demand” medical product. Not only are we having a difficult time keeping enough product available for as many customers as possible, but our glove cost changes daily and unfortunately at a much higher price than we normally pay. In order to help with demand, we have also been purchasing gloves from a variety of new sources. We have yet to raise any customer price unless our supplier initiated a price increase. We will eventually receive and ship the glove you ordered at the same price you expected.I hope your experience will not discourage you from ordering from SME in the future. I look forward to exceeding your expectations and re-establish SME as your primary trusted supplier.

The people at SME are great, but their shipping fees are ridiculous! I ordered one item priced at ~$22 and weighing less than 10 ounces and was charged just under $16 in shipping.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are contracted with carriers primarily as a B2B shipper. Taking this into consideration, we believe our shipping rates are very competitive and more than fair. This particular shipment did not qualify for our free shipping threshold and was shipped to a rural residential address (vs. a clinic location or metro business address). UPS and FedEx charge a higher rate for rural residential shipments. Thank you for expressing your concern and giving us the opportunity to respond.
