Paul from Markel Direct here - first of all, thank you for taking the time to provide feedback.

I'm sorry to hear you were charged twice when setting up your policy online. I understand that my colleague Steve has spoken to you this afternoon. It appears that after you submitted your payment details online you encountered an error, even though the payment had gone through successfully. Upon resubmitting your details, this resulted your card being charged again. This shouldn't have happened and our IT team are looking into how to prevent this happening again.
