Dear Corinne Anderson. Thank you for writing your report of our airport shuttle service. It is truly unfortunate that you had missed your flight due to late arrival at the airport.  We always recommend our passengers to book our shuttle pickup with at least 3 hours in advance of flight departure. 30 minutes are required to collect passengers from their respective hotels and the transfer time from our main terminal to the airport can take 45 minutes to 1 hour. The airlines will normally close their check-in for flights one hour before flight departure.
According to your booking page and our coach tracking system, our hotel shuttle pickup was at your hotel within the allocated pickup time and the last on the list to be collected before heading to the main terminal. The driver reported not finding you and continued. The next available departure was offered 30 minutes later and should have brought you to the airport 1 1/2 hours before your flight departure if you planned your booking according to airline requirements.

Your driver drove past us at 1:10 even though we waved at the driver to stop (for a 1:00 departure from the terminal - we had been waiting since 12:30 as directed). The second shuttle did not come by until 1:45 after our hotel called Grey Line directly to see what the issue was. Then when we arrived to the bus terminal (even though the advertised transportation was door to door) we got on the bus for a 2pm departure. The driver made two wrong turns, and spent fifteen minutes trying to drop us off at arrivals rather than the departures. Once he dropped us off the airline had closed check-in. We missed our flight check-in by 15 minutes because of the drivers inadequacies, and the company's inability to pick us up on time. $55 wasted - and another $500 to make up for the company's mistake (new ticket, hotel and food). Overall our transportation took over 2 and a half hours.

Dear Corinne, I have sent you the tracking readout for our airport transfer coach that you departed with on January 20th – your original booking was for our 13:30 departure which you missed but your booking was transferred to the 14:00 departure arriving at the airport at 14:51 mere 30 minutes after your original plan.As we do not know at what time your flight was scheduled to depart, we cannot see how we are responsible for your late arrival considering that you must plan to be at the airport 2 hours + before flight departure as per airline advice.The coach normally stops mid-way between the departure and arrival terminals but may have needed to move further if no parking space was available at the time. The airport is very small in comparison to other international airport and going around apparently did not affect the time of coach arrival as it was well within the allocated 45 minutes to 1 hour duration on this route, arriving at 14:51

This is a great trip!
I had a fanstastic day, even though I lost my mobile phone on the trip near a cliff in the driving wind. The sights are incredible and our guide Bjarni told some great stories!
