I'm pleased to hear that you are overall happy with the service we offer however you found the cost of shipping too expensive to your country. Please be assured that we do work with our couriers on a regular basis to ensure that our customers are getting the best possible shipping prices however it has been a very difficult couple of years, many couriers have introduced additional surcharges to cover the cost of higher air freight prices and extra precautions they need to implement to ensure that their staff are working in a safe environment. Shipping is generally calculated on the amount of space the shipment takes up (this is called the volumetric weight), the cost is only calculated on the actual weight if this is higher than the volumetric weight. We do find that many parcels arrive from UK retailers in much larger boxes than necessary due to domestic shipping rates being based on the actual weight rather than the volumetric therefore we do have a service called combine and repack. This enables customers to submit a request to our warehouse team to ask them to repack their goods as efficiently as possible to ensure the customer obtains the maximum value for shipping. I see that you did not take advantage of this service last time you shipped, this service may have helped reduce the overall price for shipping. HI, Many thanks for your feedback. I'm sorry that you are unhappy that we charged GST on both the value of your goods and the cost of shipping however due to the volume of parcels we ship to Australia we are obliged to register for the collection of GST with the Australian Government. I understand that adding the amount for GST on the shipping costs makes the shipping seem more expensive however these charges would have been applied at the border by the Australian Customs Authorities if not charged by us and paying the fees up front does mean that the import of the goods should quicker seeing as these fees have already been paid. You have mentioned that you have not had to pay these fees to an overseas company before, this may be the case as they may not ship the same kind of volume of goods overseas meaning that they are not obliged to register for collection of GST. Please be assured that our registration for GST is legitimate, we state our GST registration number on the commercial invoice when shipping which can be validated with Australian Customs.
