Thank you for your review. As discussed with our agent, we do not require clients to declare perimenopause or menopause on our policies, it is not considered a pre-existing medical condition.

Thank you for your response. We note that as discussed with our agent, the additional premium of £20.50 was relating to a breathing condition you have missed to declare when you purchased the policy, and not related to perimenopause or menopause.

Thank you for your response. When you originally purchased your policy you received a discount of £20.50 (paying £70 rather than £90.50) because declared that you had no pre-existing medical conditions. When you informed us that you'd misdeclared and had mild asthma this the discount for having no pre-existing medical was removed. Beyond that no additional charge was made as we include several hundred medical conditions in the base policy and then charge extra for more severe conditions.

If you re-read the e-mail we sent it states 'The information on what you are required to declare is an abbreviated version to help you understand when in most cases you should declare a medical condition.'. When you connected to our systems to review your medical conditoins it provided full guidance on what you need to declare. In relation to the other company, if you told them about your asthma at the point of purchase this would have been factored into your quote at that time. The only reason you had an additional cost from us, as previously noted, was the loss of discount for not having any pre-existing medical conditions, as you'd not accurately filled in your quote form when you purchased.
