The tour guides are booked to support the group during the walk but once in Santiago we find most people want to explore the city on their own, hence the scheduled free time. Once the destination is reached (the hotel in Santiago), the guide's work is complete from our end. However we appreciate feedback such as this and suggestions for future tours. Thank you for your feedback. We are disappointed to hear the trip did not live up to your expectations. In relation to hotel bookings, we always contact requested hotels however if we are informed they have no availability we can not make the booking. If this happens, we always book a hotel of similar standard. It is also possible that hotels might have rooms available for TPIs that are not always accessible to other providers. With regards to the walking notes for the Via Francigena trail, these are the best available in the market at the moment but we are always trying to keep them up to date. Unfortunately when walking into big cities, main roads can often be difficult to avoid. We hope you enjoyed your trip overall and look forward to hearing from you in the future. We are disappointed to hear the food and accommodation didn't live up to your expectations. The standard pilgrim menu meal is included in all bookings, as this is the menu provided by hotels. We also offer B&B options, if clients prefer to organise their own dinner; as well as hotel upgrades where possible (mainly in bigger towns and cities).
